As the concept of dystopia inspired not only film makers but also writers a small anthology of dystopian books which are the most famous and readable is by all means indispensable for my blog. And here it comes…

What does that list tell you in case you haven’t heard of most of these books? You should start reading!!! They are compelling 😉
hey,
I like the reading list, most of these are really good books. Recently I read a Clockwork Orange. I liked it. It was kinda shocking and gives incentives to think about the whole topic. I guess the movie is supposed to be good too, I haven’t had the chance to watch it yet. Anyway did you read most of these books or which ones did you read and would especially recommand?
I read Brave New World which I would totally recommand. It’s so incredible how someone could have come up with all these convoluted ideas. And it’s even more surprising that the author, Aldous Huxley, wrote it 70 years ago with such visions in mind. I’ve also read some extracts of 1984 and The Handmaid’s Tale which are both very promising.
Actually, I’ve watched much more dystopian movies and Gattaca is definitely my favourite. The story is so thrilling and really compelling. It’s so fascinating, yet frightful, to see how people’s perception of what perfection means and what it doesn’t can be governed; and then again, how this changes or restricts their life.
oh wow I have seen some of these movies w/o even noticing that they are dystopian movies… Most of them are great =)
I have read “lord of the flies” and know the movie as well… I was wondering why it’s considered to be dystopian?? It’s an awful book though… movie is a bit better but I still wouldn’t recommend it 😉
tough but good question! you really got to the heart of the matter whether it is dystopian or not. actually it’s depends on how you interpret the book… maybe this link can answer your question: http://www.squidoo.com/best-dystopian-novels
lol well as soon as I commented I thought of why I could be considered a dystopian novel.. world w/o adults and stuff..
Thanks a lot for the link… good that they say there, that there is an going argument whether it is truly a dystopian novel or not..
Thanks for looking that up for me!!
